Presidents Welcome

Dear fellow past pupil,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I welcome you all to our new look website. Recognising that "being on line is where it is at", we decided to commission a new website which reflects this online world and a lot of work has gone into the design of the website with a view to encouraging young, old, new and existing past pupils to use the site regularly. Indeed we encourage all visitors to give us their feedback with regard to the site and indeed any ideas they may have with regard to its future development.

I am sure you are like me when it comes to being fed up with all the doom  and gloom out there in our media. This is why it is most important to link up with that old class mate of yours either on line via the website or at our official social events. Don’t put it on the long finger and what better way than through the Presentation College Past Pupils Union.

Business has been tough for us all over the last year but one thing that has really stood out to me is that friendships get even stronger through these tough times so I feel it is really important to build on our old School ties of the past.

There was a really true and magnificent example of this at work at the 2010 Presidents Dinner last May where it was a really special night and it was also great to see that once everyone went through those doors of the School hall we were all transported back to our old days in the School.

Old conversations from so many years ago (some more years ago than others!!) just seemed to take off from where they were left off. Nicknames from School that had not been uttered since then, seemingly slipped off the tongues of all present and nobody was spared and that’s what made the night so special.

I observed every table of the sold out dinner on the night and there was not one non smiling face present. I cannot wait now for the next president’s dinner which is taking place in the new School hall, once it has re-opened (thanks to Gerry Duffy whom needs no introduction). Keep checking back here for any updates.

What better way to have a look at the new School than on the night of the dinner. Perhaps your sons are going to be going to the new School or many sons may have gone through the old School.

I wish to pass on my thanks to the Committee for all their support last year and for this coming year.
