A message from Gary Brennan, President of the PPU
Dear Past Pupil,
It is a great honour and privilege to be elected President of Pres Past Pupils Union. I wish to acknowledge the great work of my predecessor Brendan Toolan, who has had the distinction of presiding over the PPU for a remarkable 7 years over two terms.
I look forward to the year ahead with the support of Vice President Michael O’Brien and committee members. Our focus is on continuing to foster strong connections with the school, pupils, Parents Association and of course you the past pupils.
I feel there is a real opportunity with the support of the committee and all PPU members to focus on the key objectives of:
- Growing our contacts through the use of various social media platforms.
- Attending school events throughout the year.
- Looking at ways to support current and past pupils of our school.
- Increasing the number of contributing PPU members.
- Ensuring the PPU golf and dinner is an event to remember!
Dates for your diary:
- Sunday 2nd of March the PPU mass is planned to be held in the school on that morning.
- Friday 4th of April – The Scannell Cup will be held in Greystones Golf Club. Following the success of last year’s event, the Annual Dinner will take place in the club on the same evening.
My initial asks are:
- Follow and join us on social media.
- Reach out to old friends for a great night’s reunion at the annual dinner, especially those who left in ’75, ’85, ’95, ’05 and ’15.
- Sign up to join the PPU – annual fee €30. The majority of money raised goes to the school and some small funding for the running of the PPU.
Finally, I am sure you will join me in wishing the Principal, Martin Locke, the staff, the community, the pupils, the parents, and all associated with our Alma Mater, every success in 2025.
Kind regards
Gary Brennan
President PPU 2025.
