Presentation College Bray PPU, Annual Golf Outing 2022

The Annual Golf outing attracted 17 past pupils and their guests to Bray Golf Club on Friday 16th September 2021. This was disappointing as it was less than half the number that played last year.

Despite this, those that participated thoroughly enjoyed Bray Golf Club which was in terrific condition. Following the golf, we enjoyed an excellent meal served by Brigid and the catering team.

The new World Handicap Index seems to have settled down with the scoring returning to more predictable levels. The nines were won by Brendan Toolan with 20 points (front) and Tino Cassoni 21 points (back). In 3rd place was the 2020 winner and President of Greystones Rugby Club, Breffni (Bubbles) O’Hagan of Druids Glen with 38 points off 14.

The runner-up this year is Ronan Willis also of Druids Glen with 40 points off 15. His brother Cillian Willis (Druids Glen), former professional rugby player, won the visitor’s prize with 35 points off 15.

The winner of the Scannell Cup for 2022 is David Meehan of The European Club who scored a hugely impressive 41 points off a handicap of 11. David played the front nine in level par and previously won The Scannell Cup in 2008 and 2011.

Previous winners of The Scannell Cup competed for the Past Winners Prize and Killian Cassoni, prevailed with 37 points.

It was a pleasure to welcome Sean Doyle who travelled from Co. Sligo for the outing and defending champion, Michael Dunne who travelled from Rosslare. In the raffle, Alex O’Sullivan won the 4 ball to Bray.

We hope you can join us in September 2023 when the outing is scheduled to move after the last three years in Bray.

Kind regards

Brendan Toolan
